Dear Mack-L Client,
Welcome to tax season 2026! Please welcome aboard Jay Astor a new member of our Nevada administrative team. This years staff include Marci Chernoff, Karen Mahoney, Lenora Corbin and Nicole Rugen. We said a fond farewell to Allison Hill this past year as she moved to her new position in another accounting firm. We wish you all the best!
Lots of new happenings here. We are using new tax and project management software. You will see emails from Intuit and Financial Cents. Financial Cents in your client portal where you can upload and download shared documents without having to create an account. Just use your email and a code that will be sent there.
We have also opened a Nevada location. See below in the document section for the address if you need to mail documents.
ORGANIZERS
Now in a fill-able format with questions answerable in your client portal. these will be sent out through financial cent. We expect availability by January 20th
SCHEDULING
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND THOROUGHLY!
We will begin processing returns after we receive all documents and have a signed engagement letter from you. It is highly likely many returns will go on extension. What does this mean? The tax return can be granted an extra 6 months to be filed. Payment, however, can not be extended. The money is due by April 15th. If you think you may owe please make and extension payment at https://www.irs.gov/payments. Not sure how much to pay check out IRS estimator calculator at https://www.irs.gov/individuals/tax-withholding-estimator
This tax season we will prepare your returns and send them to you for approval before e-filing. You can give us the green light to e-file your tax returns by signing your signature forms and you will be all set! Should you need to discuss your returns further a phone or virtual appointment can be made with Lisa before e-filing.
EXTENSIONS:
We try to process as many returns as possible before the March 15th deadline for LLCs and S-Corps and April 15th deadline for personal returns. However, there is the possibility that an extension maybe filled on your behalf. An extension gives more time to file, but not extra time to pay your tax liability. Please be sure you have made your estimated tax payments, extension payment, or have enough withholding to cover your tax liability.
TAX DOCUMENTS
Your client portal is the best place to upload your tax docs. In fact, in the organizer section of your client portal you will find a request for each tax document type. If you see one that does not apply, no worries, leave a comment.
If you are unable to upload tax documents you still have the option of mailing in or dropping off your documents! Please note that documents dropped off at the Lake Forest location are mailed to our Nevada location on a weekly basis. If you choose to mail directly to the Nevada office the address is below:
2500 Desert Sands
Las Vegas, NV 89134
When mailing or dropping off please send us your copies and you keep the originals. We are not responsible for lost documents in the mail. We highly encourage you to use the portal.
Here is an idea of what the process will look like:
1. Tax documents received.
2. Staff will prepare your returns.
3. Your return will be reviewed.
4. A copy of your return along with the signature forms will be sent to you via Docusign for your review. A link to the appointment calendar will be available to scheduling an appointment.
5. Sign your signature forms if you approve (Be sure to check bank account information and if refunds or tax payments will be auto withdrawn. Your signature means you are approving all elements)
6. You use the appointment link to schedule an appointment should you wish one.
7. Your return will be e-filed.
You can check the status of your federal refunds or create an account at https://www.irs.gov/. Your state will likely have a similar portal for your state refund.
We are very much looking forward to working with you again this coming tax season!
All the best,
The Mack-L Team
